Looking for a creative and progressive thinker with good communication skills and in-depth knowledge of custom production in the plastic extrusion industry.
Responsibilities include: Developing new tooling, building innovative downstream tools and revamping tooling standards to reduce production costs.
Work with sales department to review tool quotes, approve tool plan, manufacture and test dies. Ensure tools are built per set budget, timeliness and specifications. Run trial run samples, conduct sample review reports and provide improvement solutions during tooling development phase.
Candidate will also be responsible for researching new suppliers and tooling concepts and provide cost effective and high quality technical support to all customers.
Additional functions will include: Maintain and comply with all safety standards. Establish operating indicators to measure departmental performance regularly. Support with scheduling, interact with vendors and various daily functions.
A tooling engineer requires 5-10 years of experience in tooling design and development. Experience as a machinist a must. Plastics background is a must.
