Carbon Emissions Reduction Commitment
Montville Plastics & Rubber is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our manufacturing
operations, in support of our customers’ sustainability goals and our own responsibility as a
manufacturer.
Our Commitment: Montville Plastics & Rubber commits to reducing our Scope 1 (direct) and
Scope 2 (purchased electricity) greenhouse gas emissions by an average of 30% by 2030,
using calendar year 2022 as our baseline.
How We Will Get There
Building a baseline inventory of our 2022 facility energy use (electricity, natural gas, and fuel) so we can
track progress consistently over time.
Identifying and implementing energy efficiency improvements across our facility, including lighting,
HVAC, and production equipment.
Reprocessing manufacturing scrap into regrind and blending it back into our production material at up
to 20%, reducing virgin material consumption and waste sent to landfill.
Continuing to identify further opportunities to reduce material waste and scrap in our manufacturing
processes.
Monitoring utility and fuel consumption on an ongoing basis to measure our progress against the 2022
baseline.
Evaluating renewable and lower-carbon energy options as they become practical for our operations.
Accountability: We will review our progress against this commitment annually and update our plan as our
data collection and initiatives mature.
